not able to save dcr

Hi,

I am getting the below error when I try to save the dcr.

Save was unsuccessful. Invalid category/type null was received.

it was working fine till y'day.
we have stopped/started the teamsite server today morning because the server was dead slow.

after restart we are seeing this error.

env: TeamSite 6.5 SP3

appreciate your thoughts and help in resolving this issue.

This comes when you have some problems in your JS file. Is there anything you changed on the JS front. Also what is the log saying? I would go by commenting the js section in the DCT to check that the DCT is working fine and then will move to the JS File to check what the problem is. Thanks.

There must be some item object in JS before saving the DCR which is being referenced having null value.

Comment out the script tag and try saving the DCR.

Check your templating.cfg for exxistence of that type of template and that the branch is allowed to create it/edit it

Comment out the script tag and try saving the DCR.

Or use proper JS development tools (Firebug/IEDevConsole) to catch and debug the JS exception that must be occurring. Alternately, pasting higher characters from MSWord into your form is also known to cause this type of issue.
