Determining the size of a content store

TeamSite 6.7.1 on Solaris 10, Sparc server

I feel I must be missing something obvious in the documentation. Is it not possible to determine the size of an individual content store using one of the IW command line tools provided?

I've been asked to provide the size of each of our content stores for documentation purposes.

Does anyone know how I would get this information?

How about "du -k..." on the corresponding content Store sub-folders within iw-store?

I have tried du -k previously. Depending on where it is run, du -k gives different results.

In one case, running du on /data/Interwoven/iw-store/*storename* returned a result of 19764669K, running it on /iwmnt/*storename* returned 30463315K.

Which, if either, result is an accurate size of the content store?

The former (iw-store) is the accurate representation of how much disk space is being used by the content store. The latter (iwmnt) is reading the uncompressed contents of the content store, and is akin to checking how much space would be consumed if you unzipped a zip file. Since iwmnt is a virtual mount (a 'view' of sorts into the compressed version of the store), that space isn't actually being used up on any physical disk.

Are you trying to get the disk space utilization of the backing store or of a particular branch within the backing store?

The second cannot be accurately determined due to the way the Interwoven virtual filesystem works. A long time ago I posted a hypothetical way in which one might be able to come close to calculating the approximate size of a branch - but the effort involved is questionable given the dubious value of the results.

We run different applications in separate content stores, I wanted to determine the size of each content store.

Using du works fine, I just wasn't sure why the difference in size. Of course it makes sense now.
