How to populate a datum dynamically with the value of another datum?

Hi Experts,

I have 2 datums say a String and a Textarea datum. My requirement is such that I am putting some value of the String datum through component properties and I want the TextArea datum to be automatically populated with that value of the String datum.

Anyone know as how can we acheive this?

Generators are out- of-scope as they works only on SIngleSelect and MultiSelect Datum.

Can someone please guide me on this?

You can't. There's no FormAPI-style dynamic capabilities in SitePub component authoring. If you absolutely must have this kind of feature, then capture your content in a FormsPub DCT, and have the component reference that.

rpoulin is correct but an alternative to using a DCF, as he suggests, would be to use an External to process the results - but I don't recommend this.

However, depending on what you want to do with the data, you may be able to get away with just the single Datum to capture the value, then build your new value as an XSL variable?
