IE crashes on new Data Record
suj
Hi All
In some of our client machines IE crashes while accessing new data record. All client machines have a configuration of Win2k professional SP2 with IE 5.5 SP2. We are not able to pin point the reason of crash as this problem is not seen in other client machines which have the same OS & IE configuration. Further we have found that this crash is happening irrespective of Teamsite versions & visual format usage in the DCRs. All DCRs works perfect on netscape.
Does any one has any clue to this?

I've seen it happen in IE (5 or 5.5 or 6 Im not sure) with visual Format usage.
When I removed Visual Format it worked fine. I saw some where in the KB about VF Bugs and Bug fixes but I did not peruse the problem any further becasue f the same resaons (some machines worked but some didn't)
Hope it helps,
Big Jim

Take a look on other postings. We all had the same problem that you're having right now.
Teamsite 5.5.2 SP2 should solve your problem.
You will have to re-install VF client on your client machine.

In our case, we didnt go to 5.5.2 SP2, but we did install Ektrons Visual Format patch, which fixes the problem for VF and IE (I believe 6.0) clients. Installing the VF patch leaves quite a bit smaller footprint than installing SP2. We also had to force clients to re-download teh VF client, which is explained in the patch/bug article. Cant seem to find the number right now but its out there.

Hi All
The browser (IE only) is crashing irrespective of whether we use
a visual format in templating or not..The problem is " On click of new data content record IE crashes irrespective of whether a visual format is being used or not"...a real grave problem....
