How components interact

Hi,

I am currently working on a prototype for a site page. This page is going to have many components like headers, footers, main body, right nav and left nav.

I have a question here, how components can be responsive based on the links selected from the header component. Based on the links selected from the header; i need to display some specific left nav , right nav and body content.

Your question is not making a lot of sense.

If I choose a link, I go to a new URL. All components have access to that URL and can display accordingly. That is not responsive.

I suspect that simple answer is not what you were looking for, but let us know and rephrase if needed. An example would help.

To add to Andy's response - IF perhaps you're talking about "cross-component" communication (i.e. header component sends a 'flag' to nav and content components to render based upon - all in the same page instance) - that's not possible either.

Well not a component feature. One can write something in JS that can do that, setting a global flag and each component has JS to adjust. But it is not part of SP/LS
