VFE issue with IE9

Hello there,

We are using TeamSite 6.7.2 with VFE. One of our users (content auther) recently upgraded her browser to IE9. After her upgrade, she is not able to edit VFE paragraph fields in DCRs. As soon as she clicks in the VFE paragraph, the paragraph loads, with the VFE toolbar, but the whole browser freezes and never comes back. She can not even close the browser. She has to kill the process from task manager.

Is this a known issue and is there any fix/workaround for this? I am aware of the fact that TS 6.7.2 is not supported on IE9, but does that mean it will not work at all? We are on our way to upgrade TS, but cant make users wait for the upgrade.

Also, this seems to be a inconsistant issue as there are a few other users who have installed IE9 and its working fine for them.

Any pointers are appreciated.

Good luck.

You may be able to put it in compatibility mode, 6.7.2 was release circa 2008, and I assume IE 7 and maybe IE 8 are supported.

VFE adds another level of complexity because it is a Win32 app plugin. You can try to uninstall it and reinstall the plugin.

Already tried reinstalling and installing VFE client on the user computer, didn't work Smiley Sad

. Yes, it is supported on IE7 and IE8, but not IE9.

What are the options now? No option but to not install IE9?

I do not remember if IE9 had a compatibility mode that allows it to work like IE7/8 But check that and see if it helps

You can force it from the server-side using the X-UA-Compatible HTTP header, but AFAIK compatibility mode only works on the DOM model and JS processing -- probably won't have any effect on ActiveX controls.
