Copy some files from one content store to the other

Hi,

I need to copy some dcr files from one content store to other using workflow.
I tried using the unix cp command but the dcr file is not displayed correctly in the destination folder. I get an error "the system cannont locate dcr4.5.dtd". Is this because the extended attributes are not copied when I try to move files from one content store to the other? How do I reapply the EA? Can you please let me know.

Either use OpenDeploy with EA copying enabled or write your own script to transfer the EAs using the iwextattr CLT (or Java equivalent)

Check whether your source store workare has dcr4.5.dtd, if yes copy that to your target store workarea.

You can try to use iwcp from the iw-home/bin directory instead of using the OS's cp command. But remember that iwcp only works one file at a time meaning you won't be able to do something like iwcp source/*.* to dest/.
You'll need to loop through your list and run iwcp through each file, which could be costly if you have thousands of files to copy...

iwcp does not work across content stores - you have to either use OpenDeploy with EA transfer or a write your own code to transfer the EAs from source to target after copying the file using a more traditional method.

I used unix cp command to copy the dcr and then used iwextattr clt to copy the extended attributes as well. It worked well. Thanks a lot for the replies.
