Interwoven not accepting "&" symbol in file/folder name

I am working on upgradation project from Interwoven TeamSite 6.7.2.0 to Interwoven TeamSite 7.3.2.0. So we have to use the same name as previously used. We copied all the files and folder from old workarea, now we are trying to submit the files its giving some "fail to instantiate a workflow model" error. Please suggest me any alternatives to add "&" symbol. Also find the attached screenshot of error message.

I don't think '&' is the issue here. To confirm, try to submit any other folder which don't have '&'.

Also, what's in log when your WF fails?

yaa. I have already tried with other folder having name without "&" , its working fine. This is happening for all the folder having "&" symbol.

Try using iwsubmit on the file. That will show if it is your workflow or if it is the system itself

I suspect it is the workflow, because the jobspec is XML, wwhich is now invalid if it has an un-encoded & in the data.

Put your WF in debug and examine the output XML, confirm that suspicion.

I'm pretty sure nipper is correct. Ampersands getting encoded.

I'll also mention a similar issue that we had as it might be relevant. However, this information is a bit out-of-date, so I'm not sure if it still applies.

The issue for us was to do with TeamSite bundling an old copy of XMLBeans which has a bug (https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/XMLBEANS-274) that was fixed in 2006, but TeamSite still used the pre-2006 version. Essentially, it strips spaces after ampersands.
