Open deploy to check file exists on runtime

Hi All ,

TS : 6.7.2 SP1
OD : 7.1
OS : Unix

Is there a provision in Opendeploy where i can check if a file exists or not on a target runtime environment.

any pointers or suggestions will be helpful.

Actually there is no specific requirement / or task . Just had a thought , is it possible for the OD to check for a file if it exists on its targets.

Well - if you are doing a source/target comparison deployment - it already does this, which is how it determines (if doDeletes is enabled) whether to initiate a deletion.

In a filelist deployment, it's solely dependent upon whether the file exists on the source side. If it does, it gets deployed; if it doesn't, a deletion gets sent.

You might be able to utilize a

dnrFile location="target" when="before"

script - in which your script may be able to retrieve the name of the file being looked for from STDIN (unsure, I've never used

dnrFile

) such that the script could then determine if the file exists before it gets deployed ... though:
