Question about OpenDeploy

Here is a strange question.

What are some reasons that a company would NOT want to use OpenDeploy to deploy their files?

We are trying to understand our client's reasoning for why they don't use Open Deploy, so that we can make a better case to them for why they should use it.

For instance, right now they use SPAR files instead of having war files deployed with OpenDeploy. Why would they think that is a better approach?

They might already have something in place instead of OpenDeploy and some companies refuse to change even though it might be better for them. They could also not want to write new workflows that make use of the opendeploy. They have other syncing software that they are using. There are probably many other reasons, you'll have to ask the company for their input why they wouldn't want to use OD.

Licensing cost is another one. rsync is free and works just fine if you don't need all the added functionality.

But like Smitty said, you should try having a conversation with them about it. Sending them a list of reasons why they're wrong will no doubt appear confrontational and work against you.
