1. Does anybody know how to do a byte count or checksum of the file after getting imported into TeamSite?

2. did anybody do a virus scan of the file once the file get imported into TeamSite?

I am not sure about the first question. But yes you can do a virus scan on the import functionality. You need to write your own custom import functionality and use the clients anti-virus program to scan the particular file. Based on the result flag you can import the file.

There is no OOTB functionality, you have to build one from scratch.

There's a kb article on the support site that says you shouldn't be doing a virus scan on the mounted file system (Y: drive or /iwmnt). It is recommended that you should be running the virus scan against iw-store instead. Running it against the mount point would having the effect of a system or root modifying the files instead of the actual person doing the modifying.

I don't want to run the Anti Virus scan on the entire store rather want to run on the single/multiple binary executable files which will be imported into TeamSite using GUI import functionality.

If your virus scan software supports it - you should run it against the file within the specific workarea - before the file gets submitted.

You should not run a virus scan on the backing store, especially if the virus scanner is set to quarantine files - you could easily corrupt your backing store that way. Nor should you run it against a non-workarea location within the mount point - as the process would take forever to run as it has no comprehension of the IFS and would end up scanning the exact same file multiple (tens, hundreds, thousands or more) times as it traversed every single edition.

On Unix, not certain what DOS has for checkum

For a portable way, use Digest::MD5 in Perl, or MessageDigest.getInstance("MD5") in Java.
