TS 7.3.1 and Internet Explorer 10

We're upgrading our company browser to IE 10 and we're currently on TeamSite 7.3.1 We've discovered the following major issues so far.

1) In IE 10, it's not possible to navigate up the tree in the left-hand navigation window to view other work areas and branches.

2) We get an internal server error when we try to submit files assets. (DCR submission does work)

HPs official response it that "IE 10 isn't currently supported by any of Ts versions, this is a feature that is expected to be in future releases." We don't have time to wait for the next release that supports IE 10. (which by the way has been out since September 4th 2012 ) Has anyone else run into these issues? Thanks.

Are you saying that navigation doesn't work, or that you're not seeing the proper navigation pane?

I know that some versions of some browsers don't refresh the navigation pane when you go into a workarea - unless you do a browser refresh after going into the workarea. Is that what you're talking about?

Does it make any difference if you try to use the Actions > Submit option rather than the Submit button?

Well, 7.3.1 came out before then, so it is not surprising that it is not supported.

As to the functionality, I use IE10 and IE11 on different servers ranging from 7.2.1 to 7.4.1

I have seen issues but not the ones you have stated. I have seen things like #1 but refresh seems to take care of it.

Do you have the IE security patch loaded ? That came out about a year ago.

When I try to click up in the left panel navigation (screenshot 1), instead of navigating up to the branch level, it opens up a strange new window. (please see screenshot 2)

Download patch 18448 - it helps here. It is on the normal product download. Things may still get wonky but a refresh will clean it up.

I ask because I've seen the same behavior with IE-10 with TeamSite 7.4.1 - and I don't see anything in the 7.4.1U1 Release Notes to indicate that this issue is known or resolved with it.

Fortunately, my customers are standardized on IE-8 and it seems to work okay there.

That is a TS patch that came out in July of last year, after the IE patch broke a lot of tools. That was specific to javascript menus but the changes made later versions of IE and FF behave better.

Joe may also consider trying IE compatibility mode. From what I have seen, that often helps, EXCEPT when using SitePublisher, then it make things worse.

We experienced the same scenario for several months now and are actually considering downgrading all TS/OD users to ie9 which is less than ideal for our support team. This has been an issue for so long it's frankly shocking that HP has not rectified IE10 support or announced IE11 support yet.

It would be much easier for us to upgrade the TS/OD users to IE11 but have not heard of 7.3.x support for that on the HP roadmap.

IE10 compatability and dev tools browser version mimicing option are really both less than ideal for end users and full TS functionality just does not work as such these methods are nothing more than semi functioning hacks.

I would suggest downgrading your users to IE9 until HP addresses this in some official way.

This has been an issue for so long it's frankly shocking that HP has not rectified IE10 support or announced IE11 support yet.

I don't know if I'd necessarily call this 'shocking'.. This platform's history has rarely seen patches for older versions to support newer browsers -- instead, newer versions support newer browsers. I expect that you'll need to upgrade to TS8.0 for IE10 support, whenever that comes out.

For 7.4 and 7.4.1 I agree, but they have kept up with FF, so I have to assume that IE 10/11 is causing them some special headache.

None of which helps you if you are still on 7.3.1 (like the original thread)

Does anyone know if TS 7.5 support IE 10 or 11 yet? Sorry I can't find the release notes or documentation on this support site.

We are on win ts 7.4 and are forced to use ie 9 due to the lack of support.

Update:

I just found the documentation and see that TS 7.5 does indeed support ie 10 and 11 on win however given the issues others seem to be having deploying a stable 7.5 I think we will wait for a patch.
