Modified By attribute shows junk name

Hi All,

I have a wierd scenario. A folder has been moved from one folder to the other and modified by is showing the name as "S-1-5-21-315576832-113966". How can I track who has moved this folder? iwevents.log seems not logging file creation, deletion, moving etc. Is there anyway I can figure out who has actually moved the folder. Thanks in Advance.

As far as i have seen this, Looks like this is SID for the user who is no longer in your organization and lost access to TeamSite but still is OS user. You will have to track that and use iwidmap to remap this to another user who has access to TeamSite.

I think you got that backwards.. when SIDs appear, it's because TeamSite has an entity record that maps to a user that was removed from the OS or AD.

Rohan_t1 suggested the right fix for this, but if you want to know who that user represented previously, you can search the iw-home/TeamSite/local/entities files for that SID and the file you come up with will also contain the original username.

I need to track who has moved or how it had happened. As i see, iwevents.log, doesnot record folder deletion/moving. Is there any way i can figure out how this folder had been moved? Thanks.

From the folder perspective, probably not - since folders do not, in and of themselves, get versioned in TeamSite. You might be able to tell by looking for events regarding the files - or perhaps (easier?) by looking at the version logs for one of the files within the folder.

While it might be nice to know - unless this is a re-occuring thing I wouldn't sweat it too much.
