Multiple production server deployment

Hi,

M facing issues related deploying to 'multiple' production server. For that m refering 7.3.1 site publisher pdf, whatever the procedure has given exactly i follow the same. While adding <bean> node in 'customer-teamsite-resource-config' and odnodes.xml and making build the TS is not getting up showing following error.

1] ERROR [org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.[jboss.web].[localhost].[/iw-cc]] Exception starting filter teamsite.web.filter.OpenSessionsInView
org.springframework.beans.factory.parsing.BeanDefinitionParsingException: Configuration problem: Bean name 'customer.teamsite.DeploymentService.OpenDeploy.DeploymentTargetMap' is already used in this <beans> element
Offending resource: ServletContext resource [/WEB-INF/conf/livesite_customer/resources/customer-teamsite-resource-config.xml]

2] ERROR [STDERR] org.springframework.beans.factory.parsing.BeanDefinitionParsingException: Configuration problem: Bean name 'customer.teamsite.DeploymentService.OpenDeploy.DeploymentTargetMap' is already used in this <beans> element

This is the only procedure i know for mulitple targets. If there are any other way it will be very helpful. M attaching the 'cusotmer-teamsite-resource-config.xml' as well..

It's telling you that you can't define the DeploymentTargets object twice.

Re-read the manual. It's going to tell you to add your second production instance inside the same <map> as the first, which is not where you've put it.

And as an FYI, many people define there own deployments rahter than using the PLC. Making them completely integrated and transaction is difficult. But you can use the individual pieces to deploy web assets, LSDS assets, DB and LSCS data on your own pretty easily.

Thnx for the reply. Yes i make changes as u told me and refered the PDF as well. Still m facing the problem with following error.

1] ERROR [org.jboss.deployment.MainDeployer] Could not start deployment: file:/C:/Interwoven/ApplicationContainer/server/default/deploy/iw-cc.war/
org.jboss.deployment.DeploymentException: URL file:/C:/Interwoven/ApplicationContainer/server/default/deploy/iw-cc.war/ deployment failed.

2] java.lang.IllegalStateException: BeanFactory not initialized or already closed - call 'refresh' before accessing beans via the ApplicationContext.

Any suggestion will b helpful.

Hi Polumi, Nipper.

As u pple told me to make changes. I made according to that now there is no error & TS is wokring properly. But doing so, when i going to deploy page NO changes are showing to target s/r or any related log file. Though all OD services are running properly. I made changes in OpenDeployWebRoot.xml also.

Any suggestion will b helpful.

You never posted your requirement, so assuming you want to separate targets that you can deploy to separately, then that's not quite right. What you need is two <entry> elements as children of the <map>, where the second one would be called "production2" or whatever you want. And then you can have the TargetNodes variable in your PLC workflow deploy to that.

If, on the other hand, you want to deploy to a single target "environment" comprised of multiple ODReceivers, then you probably don't want to modify this file at all and instead use replication farms.

Exactly i did the same for the second <entry key> after <map> & also made entry in OpenDeployWebroot.xml + odnodes + livesite-database.xml according to pdf. But stil it haven't solve my issue. M attacing the file that i have changed + the change u have told me.

And yes the 2nd way u told me it is working using replication-farms successfully. But, i have to use only PLC way.
