Mixed receivers (NT / Unix)
MattP
Hi all-
Has anyone implemented a mixed OS OD receiver pool. I am running all NT (for teamsite, OD, ODR metatagger etc..). One country zone would like to install the receiver on a UNIX box. Assuming the box meets the requirements for ODR, are there any implications for my deployments. In a single deploymnet I will have 3 NT receivers and the one UNIX receiver. Any insight would be great.
Thanks
Matt

If you stick with forward slashes ("/") for area and path specifications in the deployment configs, things should work across both platforms. Alternatively, specify multiple definitions in the deployment configs, one for Windows and one for Unix, so that you can use native syntax for the targets; e.g., C:\foo on Windows versus /foo on Unix.
One spot where forward versus backward slashes matters is in the list of allowed directories in odrcvr.xml; e.g., \foo on Windows versus /foo on Unix.
