TS 7.2.1 migration of users.

Hi,
We are migrating from TS 6.5 which had OS roles to TS groups and I am runnning into a strange problem.

The old workflow is not working when I move an old user to a group with author role. When I start the workflow it gives an "Unknown" role.

The users are not configured through LDAP. Also the user_databases.xml is not configured. They are currently part of network domain but they are also added as local users on the box.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Just for the sake of testing try with other role and see you are still getting the message.

You mean you have already tested the workflow with all other roles and it is not working with any of them, correct?

Have you tried the out of the box workflows?

TeamSite 6.5 workflows will not work in TeamSite 7.2.1. Support has already confirmed this and there isnt any fix for it.

Chances are the workflows you are talking about have code in them that looks up users in roles by reading IWHOME/conf/*.uid files - which no longer exist in 7.x. Instead you have to change the code to retrieve the users for roles using one of the CLTs (I believe iwaccess, but I don't have access to a server right now to verify it) - or using a Java DataSource (not exactly sure if/how you would fold this into a WFT)
