nodetable in search
swatis
In our server nodetable folder present under Search-home/idol is consuming a lot of space. It is occupying 46GB, but the search installed on the other server having the same content store and data is only fer megs.
I have uninstalled search but still "nodetable" folder still exist.
Any pointers as to what is making the size of the folder growing so much.
does it depends on the data present in stores ?

Absolutely - IDOL is used to index all the content files in all the editions on all the indexed branches - so if you have x-data on one server and 10x-data on another server - IDOL will clearly consume more disk space indexing 10x-data than it would x-data.
There are options to allow IDOL to compress its files (I believe it's mentioned in the documentation and in one or more KB articles on the Support site) - you need to read all the instructions about it carefully...

To Swati's question, those files still exist after search is uninstalled, is it okay to remove all those files? Will it break any Teamsite functionality? Thanks.

If you are not using Search/Idol/LSCS then you should be able to remove them
