Email Notification task failing all of sudden

Hi Geeks,

Email Notification task is hanging in workflow modeller on production server all of sudden. Though it gets successfully notified when TeamSite master invokes the workflow but when business user invokes the same customized workflow it hangs. And for your information it was working fine earlier and business users have proper permissions, roles and group access.

What could be possibilities of this error and how can resolve this?

And no information from the logs to trace the error.

Figure out which class you're using to send the notification, then turn on debug logging for that class in http://teamsite/iw-cc/command/iw.base.loggers

Run the job again and you should see relevant output in server.log and/or content_center.log.

The email notification is not hanging in the workflow modeler. The email notification task is part of a workflow model (created in the workflow modeler), an instance of that model was instantiated as a job, and the job is hanging in the notification task, however ...

Though it gets successfully notified when TeamSite master invokes the workflow but when business user invokes the same customized workflow it hangs. And for your information it was working fine earlier and business users have proper permissions, roles and group access.

Clearly any log file that you can find that gets updated when this issue occurs would likely help speed your way to recovery. rpoulin's already given you some pointers on that - based on the assumption that you're using an OOTB Java class for performing the email notification.

for the Email task - it's possible the problem is for some other seemingly un-related issue (like trying to lock files, etc.)
