Your choices are drop-down single-select lists and N-row multi-select lists.

If the latter is not what you're asking about please elaborate.

i have a problem extracting the selected values from the listbox into the presentation template to display in the output .asp page.
what type of element holds the values?

Are you using Perl based PTs or XSLT PTs?
Have you looked at the actual DCR's XML - that should hopefully answer most of your questions assuming you know how to code Perl and/or XSLT based PTs in general.
