Upgrade/Migration

Hi All,
I would like to get some input on the content store in different TS versions.
Following is our client requirement.
The client is on TS 6.5 on solaris. Now they want to migrate to 7.3.2 on windows.

We are taking this as migration rather than upgrade.
1. we will do fresh installation of 7.3.2 on windows
2. we will migrate the code and configurations
3. we will migrate the contents with opendeploy and custom scripts from solaris to windows
I have researched on the cross platform migration and got to know the planning and steps that should be followed with this kind of migration.
I would like to know input from your experience for any issues/pre-planning that need to be taken care from content store perspective from 6.5 to 7.3.2.

If we migrate the contents with OD and apply EA with custom scripts, is there any issue that you have came across in upgrade?

That should be fine, and it's typically the safest approach because you're not tying yourself to any assumptions about the content store format.

The content store in 7.3 has new 'locales' concept which seem to get stored somewhere magical, so while I didn't think there were any changes to the content store format, it may not be entirely safe to copy a content store as-is between those versions. You'd need lots of testing to be sure, but again, your planned approach ignores this whole ****.
