How to add DOCTYPE in fixed layout

kaleemS

I have created a fixed layout and I am not seeing any option to add DOCTYPE in it.

For this I have created MyFixedLayout.xml file under the folder "/iw/config/fixed-layout"

MyFixedLayout.xml

Is there any documentation to add DOCTYPE in fixed layout configuration file ?

I have created the support ticket and it looks like this is the issue with 7.2.1.

Has anyone fixed this (adding DOCTYPE in fixed layout)?

Doctypes are attached to page types, not to layouts. When you create a page, you're asked for two things: page type, and layout. The former is where the doctype comes in. Page types are configured using pagetype-config.xml in the LSTK.

Hi rpoulin,
Thank you for your response.
Actually, I created the FAL layout, for same I copied MyFixedLayout.xml file in to the folder "/iw/config/fixed-layout".
Now, I am able to create the page using this newly created layout by selecting page type "Default HTML" and layout type "My Fixed Layout", However I haven't added anything in to pagetype-config.xml file for this.

Could you please suggest, what should I need to add into the pagetype-config.xml file to add DOCTYPE?

After you response, I tried to add page-type and layout for fixed layout as follow:
My Fixed Layout

html

-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN

http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd

html

text/html

true

myFixed layout
com/Comp/xsl/runtime/MyFixedLayout.page.xsl
com.interwoven.livesite.layout.impl.FixedLayout
But, it is not working and showing no fixed layout in the page.

There's an interesting limitation in the current architecture in that you're not allowed to define a new fixed layout. The layout id="fixed-layout" is hardcoded in IWOV code and anything else doesn't actually register as a fixed layout. You'll have to make your page type use layout refid="fixed-layout", and if you want to change its stylesheet, you have to override the existing definition (implies: you only get one per TS server).
