form api- 'genefate' event

i am capturing the file/path name of the file to be generated within the DCT as a field.
How do I make sure that value gets prepopulated in the Workarea browser that appears when the 'Generate' button is clicked on. There seems to be no event handler for the generate event.
any suggestions?
