Need to cleanup /usr1 file system

Hi Everyone,

I get a high space usage alert message from server Team. Now, I need to do some cleanup on /usr1 file system. Can anyone please advise what are the files from /usr1 can be deleted?

Any kind of help will be greatly appreciated.

I have no idea what is on /usr1

So any response you get will be a pure guess. Ask if they have backups and delete everything, they can restore what you need.

Actually it will be greatly appreciated if you can tell me what are the log lifes can be deleted in iw-home/OpenDeployNG/Interwoven? To be specific, can I rename od.log file to od1.log and then delete od.log file?

You can cycle logs. Use find to figure out which ones are big.

You may need to shut down TS/OD to remove all the logs.

You should figure out what folders are large and focus on those.

Unless you have a huge search index, that partition should not be more that 5-10 GB.

How big is the disk ?

You can delete all the logs in od-home/log. They will be re-created when you restart OpenDeploy. You can also delete logs in TeamSite too. Things like content_center.log, iwtrace.log, iwutil_cmdout.log, etc... Just make sure you stop TeamSite first, delete or archive them somewhere, then restart TeamSite. Same with OpenDeploy.

learn to use the du command to find the size

du -h --max-depth=1 /usr1

Then start figuring out where the majority of the disk is being used. It is either logs or search indexes

Consider looking in IWHOME/tmp too - just don't delete the IWHOME/tmp/cci directory - that is [unfortunately] required to be there.

You can delete the contents of that directory, just don't delete the directory itself.
