Start input task

marcussteiner

All,

I'm banging my head against the wall with one of our workflows. We have made an customization of the wfb standard workflow and added a (Perl based) cgi task. The workflow is working fine in ITT and UAT but now we are in PROD and the workflow stalls and the user have to go to the workflow tab and start the workflow at the cgi task using the "Start input task" button. Once triggered from here the workflow runs nicely and we have no issues. Still the workflow should work without manual intervention like it does in ITT/UAT.

I have spent the last 2 days comparing the involved files, their permissions, users, groups, roles, branches and content and I dont seem to be able to find any difference between the working and the non-working environments and I'm running out of ideas.

Below are the lines from servletd_out.log and the lines in bold are executed on all environments where the following two lines are just executed on the environments where it works.

Are there maybe any global settings which can be changed per server which could cause this?

Any other idea is highly appreciated.

We are on TS 6.7.2 SP 2 on Solaris 10

Cheers

Are the users handled differently from one server to another ?

Check iw.cfg, authenticate by setting.

Also, see if you have impersonate_without_password in any of the servers

marcussteiner

I have checked iw.cfg and those are the settings:

authenticate_by=pam

impersonate_without_password is not set on any of the servers.

Cheers

Did you check the iwutild.cfg files too?

marcussteiner

Just did and they are also identical. thanks for the ideas.

Is there a timeout value configurable for cgi tasks which could be different?

nipper

The only timeout that would matter is the iw-webd timeout which is set OOTB to 300 seconds. Should not be an issue.

Hi

Did you checked for the zombie files in your system. You can check by using the following steps

1) Go to /iwadmin/main/workflowModels/WORKAREA/iw-wa/Instance/ModelInstance folder through the teamsite UI and list all the files

2) Now for the same folder go to View->All and Deleted files .

If the number of files are very large for the step 2, you will need to clear the zombies.

Thanks
Kamal

Did you notice that you responded to a year old thread?

Hi Smity,

I faced the same issue and it was resolved by clearing the zombies. I responded this thinking it will be useful for others facing this issue.

Thanks

Hi

I am facing the same problem , i have deleted the ModelInstances and did not find any 'authenticate_by' in iw.cfg

Your context is almost surely different. [thread=39499]Read this[/thread] and then open a new thread, providing OS and TS versions along with a relevant portion of the error message and corresponding stack trace, and a description of how you triggered the issue.

Hi

i have created new Thread regarding this issue...
