I am trying to use the iwmigrate tool to migrate the content from one backing store to another

The old store is d:\iw-store\CIGNA_com and the new store is d:\iw-store\CIGNAcom The command I am trying is:

iwmigrate -m Y:\CIGNA_com -o d:\iw-store\CIGNAcom -b

Here're the results

The command is missing the branch vpath (which is the -b option).

The example in the CLT manual doesn't have any entry for the -b flag either and I assumed that this would get ALL the branches and sub-branches

There has to be a starting branch. So the -b should be specified.

The only time that it is not necessary is if a iwmigrate is being restarted (after a controlled interruption, such as a ctrl-c or a timeout) in which case it will pick up all the relevant information from the -o location.

Since you are attempting a branch new migrate you would have to specify the -b option.

It is possible that the documentation does not have both use cases. I'll follow up on that.

OK that makes sense now I still get an error buut I am sure it must be a syntax error

what I have tried is adding the path from the mount Y:\ drive

Yes, it is a syntax. The -b is a vpath and not a file system path. So it should be /CIGNA_com/main. Y:\CIGNA_com\main is a file system path.

When you execute IWMIGRATE on your old server, how does the backing store data get to your new server? Is is output to a file and that file is reloaded?

The output of iwmigrate is infact another backing store. All you would have to do is to activate this backing store on any server of your choice. If it is on the same system, nothing has to change. Just follow the standard procedure to activate a backing store. If it is on another system, you might have to change userid's using iwidmap.

iwwfconvert does something similar to what iwconvert does. The usage is as follows,

iwwfconvert -i source_backing_store_location -o output_backing_store_location. The difference is that it converts the workflow backing store.

iwwfconvert can only be used to convert a pre 5.5 workflow backing store to a 5.5 or later backing store.
