Select DCRs dynamically based on the locale

I am trying to implement a single site that will support multi language based on the selection of the appropriate locale DCRs in the component DCR datum. I have create DCRs for each locale as follows under the data folder
data/dcr_en-us
data/dcr_en-ca

In the page I selected the component with the DCR datum and selected the dcr_en-us. I then changed the system locale and previewed the page.
Even though [accept-language] = [en-ca] I was still seeing the dcr_en-us content.

So it seems like the OOTB locale are not working. I can create a Prefix to update the DCR path based on the [accept-language] and then the selected content will be displayed.
Is this the right approach or has somebody gotten the locale to work. Please provide details if you have done it successfully.

Try saving your DCR as-

data/name_en_us.xml
data/name_en_ca.xml

Migrateduser

Please use xml in the file extension.

Also, go through the documentation for OOTB localization.

If you're going to use LiveSite's localization mechanism, you have to override a bean called "runtime.LocaleDeterminer" to pick the locale from where you want it. By default, the http request's requested locale isn't what's used as the primary determinant. You'll find the defaults in AppContainer/server/default/deploy/iw-preview.war/WEB-INF/conf/livesite/resources/resource-config.xml. Copy to customer-resource-config.xml and tweak as required.
