Sweta1212

Hi,

Deployments in teamsite is not working. When i try to deploy any content it stucks at the first step and does not proceed further. We are not getting any error logs neither any logs are updating.

It's been 3 week now we are facing this issue.

Can anyone help urgently.

Thanks,

3 weeks?!? Have you opened a support case? Are you sure your OD process is running? There has to be a log being updated somewhere to help debug an issue like that.

Hi,

Yes OD process is running. I have checked logs from where I can see that the deployment is getting stuck at verify continue step. It is an task so may be that task is not working.

Can you help ?

Thanks,

The bit of logging you showed us doesn't really help, at least not by itself.

If the workflow appears to be hung on a particular task - you should run iwgetwfobj taskid on that task and look over that output carefully - it could be that the task is set to do file locking and is getting held up trying to lock all the files associated with the task.

If that's not the case, you need to look at the OD logs - starting with ODHOME/od.log and then in ODHOME/log/* - to see details of whether the OD process is running correctly in general and whether the deployment process specific to the workflow is running correctly and can communicate with all the intended receivers, etc.

Hi,

I ran the iwgetwfobj command for 2 task ids. One which was deployed successfully and other one which got stuck.

I have shared the screenshot for both.

First screenshot is for the task id which was successfully deployed and the second one is that I recently deployed which could not processed further.

I can see some difference for both the ids which I have highlighted it.

Could you please advise on this?

Thanks

No one can help from a screenshot and from a log that doesn't show any relavent information

Ghoti suggested where you look for the logs. Start there. Or telll your boss to hire someone who knows what theya re doing.

Adam Stoller

All the screenshot verifies is that the task itself is not hung trying to lock files - you need to look at the OD logs to see what's happening there.

I have checked and except od.log file no OD logs are generated after 3rd July.

Could you please help?

Adam Stoller

Besides the fact that you posted many year's-worth of log (you could have reduced the size of the file quite a bit) and that you're using an ancient version of OpenDeploy

SVR: 2015-07-22 15:30:32 BST GMT+01:00 Version: 6.0.2.0.0 Build 46963 Interwoven 20050402

the od.log shows nothing of note.

Are you saying that there's no ODHOME/log/hostname_odbase.log ?

Sweta1212

Hi,

Thanks for your suggestion. The file is there . We have analysed that file but we are unable to find any suspicious point which can be the cause of this problem.

Thanks in advance

How are the deployments from the workflows being initiated?

- Is the workflow using a Perl script or a Java class to perform the deployments?

I ask, because if you are using the Java class, it depends on the OD Web service being available, and your odbase.log indicates:

SVR 01020: [...] *** Web service is not configured. It is not enabled. ***

So - if that's the case - you need to fix the odbase.xml file to [re-]enable the OD web service.

If you are using a Perl script - then you should augment the script to provide verbose logging of the deployment commands it is executing and the results it gets back on STDOUT / STDERR.

I also notice that since July 3rd, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of OD server restarts (presumably because you were trying to figure out the issue with your workflow deployments), but that there is also a regular deployment occurring twice a day (at around 06:00 and 18:00) each day - so that would indicate the OpenDeploy itself is functioning.
