Changing text field length for rename function

Hi Folks,

Environment: We predominately use CCPro on TS7.4.1.2.

Question: has anyone ever customised the length of the text field used when selecting the 'rename' function? It seems quite short, considering all the whitespace that is available. :-).

You mean like changing the width of the field via CSS? I haven't, but that's easy enough to do...

I've not looked into this, but it may be related to /t5/TeamSite/Increase-Title-character-length/td-p/230492 given it's also a title field?

Thanks for getting back to me. From what I can see the width of the iw-base-textbox element is set via an inline style ... which says to me, that it isn't located in any stylesheet which I might easily customise. I've been hunting through all the CCPro files in the deployed webapp , but can't find anything that might point in the right direction.

Are you able to give me any clues as to which files need to be updated?

\Interwoven\ApplicationContainer\server\default\deploy\iw-cc.war\ccpro\filesys\common\ops\rename.jsp - edit that page and add some JavaScript at the bottom to alter the width or whatever you want to do.

Note: Do not edit the file in place. You should first copy that file to the relative location under \Interwoven\TeamSite\local\config\lib\content_center\customer_src\web\. For example, the file above would get copied to \Interwoven\TeamSite\local\config\lib\content_center\customer_src\web\ccpro\filesys\common\ops\rename.jsp.

Then run make_toolkit.ipl. Details about this command can be found on these forums or in the user manuals.

Just to be clear, this is an unsupported customisation, obviously.

For a fix that would be supported, you CAN still do this with CSS. You can override inline styles by putting !important in your rule.

Thanks for the tip. I have been trawling through the doco to see if I can find out any details about that, and there doesn't seem to be any mention (as far as I can see anyway). Do you have an example of the syntax that you can share?

Do you mean you need help with the CSS?

Just remember that if you use the !important statement that you should scope the CSS selector appropriately, otherwise it will overwrite other elements throughout TeamSite that you don't want (assuming you're using the supported standard custom external CSS files).

Ah gotchya. I hadn't actually heard of the important override :-). It's a standard part of CSS.

If you care about compatiblity, try to minimize the amount of changes to the JSP you are making.

Instead make changes using JavaScript / JQuery to achive the same.

We do this by injecting small JavaScript file to style_header.inl that is included in every single jsp in content center pro.

file location 7.4.1: ApplicationContainer/default/deploy/iw-cc.war/teamsite/util/style_headers.inl
customization path: TeamSite/local/config/lib/content_center/customer_src/web/teamsite/util/style_headers.inl

This header file contains only 4 lines of code so it is really unlikely that it is going to change in future version and if it will it is a minimal effort to migrate.

Our javascript which is injected on every page behaves differently on different URLs.

For example here is how we remove a "delete" button from Favorites list in Content Center Pro (as the "delete button deletes the actual favorited option not the favorite - so it was a bit confusing to users)
