MediaBin 8.1 Search - Auto complete Feature

Hi ,

As per release notes, a new feature in search is introduced in 8.1.

Below is the extract from release notes.

Search. Search now provides suggested search terms and the ability to
select from a drop-down list.

I believe if type "Shravan" in quick search field, the system will return few files related to this metadata in search field as drop down.

But, i could see only one entry in dropdown what ever i enter.

Please help me to fix this.

I believe I get what you are seeing.

Using the quick search field is only as good as the content indexed in IDOL for that field; metadata fields indexed into "Quick Search" and the amount of assets in MB with that term.

For example, I believe by default, MB IDOL is not indexing filenames. So if you have "Shravan" in the filename for 100 assets, and only 3 of those assets have "Shravan" in someother field which is configured to index for "Quick Search" then you will only get 3 assets in your search results.

If you want "Quick Search" to index more fields (such as filename), you will have to enable the metadata field ID you want in the IDOL config.

If you have 100 documents with "Shravan" in them, the suggested search term feature will suggest that as a search term as you begin to type it. It doesn't list all instances of it as a suggested search term. It is simply suggesting a search term for you to execute to see all the instances that IDOL will return.

Keep in mind that IDOL, by default, requires a minimum number of occurances of a term for it to be returned as a suggested search term. So your testing should be done on a substantial dataset to see the benefit.
