Mediabin 8.1 Quick Search - find specific asset type

Hi,

 

i would like to return all the jpegs in system. i know we can achieve this in advance search, but its a multiple step approach.

 

Is it possbile using quick search? i have tried below search strings but it won't return proper results.

Please note that 4..6.2 MB is returing proper results.

 

Search String :

*.pdf

PDF

*.PDF

*.pdf.*.

 

Please suggest.

Search Guidelines:
 
- When performing a search, MediaBin will only return assets to which you have access.

 

- Quick search is a word-based search. Restrict your search terms to alphanumeric characters.
For example, to search for an asset with the filename “Market_Space.jpg” use the search terms “Market” or “Space” or “Market Space”.
 
- The wildcard characters "?" and "*" represent one or more other characters that can be included in the search results.
"?" represents a single character. For example, search results for “Marke?” could include “Market” and “Marked”.
"*" represents zero, one, or more characters. For example, search results for “Spa*” could include “Space”, “Sparring” and “Space Out”.

 

- If the search field contains only an asterisk (*), MediaBin will return all accessible assets in the search results.

 

 

Searching on File Extensions does not work and is expected in MediaBin 8.1. A tweak is needed in IDOL configuration file if you would like to search on File Extensions.
