custom layouts TeamSite-SitePublisher 7.2.1

Hi Techies,

We are using HTML5 in our website and need to use custom layout in order to remove html body tag from layout and create as component. We cannot use oob option of html5 listed in page type drop down on new page. Reason for not able to use is we need to add class and id in <body> tag.

Can you guys help me sample layout using html5 along with page type config entries to be added to page type config xml.

Are you using fixed-layout.page.xsl as your layout?

You could edit that to add attributes to the <body> element. If the attributes need to change (ie. not the same for all pages) you should look into editing that file using custom page tokens with some Java code to generate them.

You can't generate the <body> tag from a component, or even from a controller class -- this would break the fundamental workings of SitePub.

Zaarin's solution is the correct (and only) solution. You can add those attributes in the master stylesheet with placeholder values, and populate those values using either controller or external classes.

similar to what Zaarin is suggesting...

We used a fixed layout...edited the fixed-layout.xsl master stylesheet to set attributes on the body tag. We created different fixed layouts (xml layouts) and set the html-id of the canvas element to what we'd want to set the body class attribute to.

we then simply reference this ID in the fixed-layout stylessheet and set its value as the class attribute value.

In this case, we didn't have to rely on custom page tokens and/or java code... but do have additional fixed layout configuration files.
