Is there a way to get list of all files locked by a user?

Hi,

I have to remove locks from all the files which are locked by a user when the user is deleted from TS. We have got a utility where after entering the id we can remove users from TS and DB, but now the client want that along with this we need to remove locks from all the files which are locked by that user in TS. I have search in the CSSDk docs and others documentation and didnt get clue that how to proceed with this. Is there a way with which we can list all the files locked by user(similar that we can get mylocked files).

How hard did you look? It took me 10 seconds to find the iwlistlocks CLT. You can write a very simple script to run this and filter out all files locked by a specific user.

EDIT: I just tested it for a branch and that works as well. You need to point to a branch that actually has workareas that have content. This is really not that hard.

Does all your content live in the main branch? That's odd. Try a workfarea. It works. You don't seem to be making much of an effort.

In case it wasn't clear what Smitty already told you - iwlistlocks does not recuse through branches. You have to supply the name of a branch on which content actually exists (/default/main generally never has content directly on it)

You could use a combination of iwlist and iwlistlocks to go through and iterate through all the branches to retrieve a list of locked files on them (filtered or otherwise) - but frankly, if you're using Perl to run this process (as opposed to doing it with Java / CSSDK - primarily using the CSBranch class's methods) - I'd opt for writing different code for finding the branch paths to provide as arguments for iwlistlocks (e.g.: TeamSite: Smiley Very Happy irwalk)
