exclude folders in available_templates.cfg

Hi,

I am using TeamSite 7.2.1 version on Linux machine. I have configured a workflow (wft) for a branch and do not want to show this workflow for some folders inside that branch. How can I exclude those folders in available_templates.cfg file. Please suggest.

You might be able to utilize the NOT conditional clause with vpath-regex directive, but the results may vary because you don't always have the context you think you have.

I tried with NOT and also with different combinations but no luck.

Well if you want more help, you should post the relevant portion of your cfg along with a description of the situations where it didn't work as expected. Just remove any confidential information (if any) before posting that.

As I indicated, it's not guaranteed to work.

Unless you show us what you've tried in terms of the available_templates.cfg and provide a step-by-step process indicating how you were initiating the workflow - we cannot really help you.

That functionality *used* to work pre-TS 6, It was actually a bug and, according to the DTD, the regex is at the branch level only.

It also makes no sense. What if I am at the root, and view modified and select an object out of a forbidden folder ? That would be "legal" by the regex but not what you want.

In the WF startup, parse the list of files and determine if a file that should not be there is part of the WF, and then remove it.

vpath-regex works on the full path in available_models.xml for all versions 7.x, if not in available_templates.cfg.

But yeah, that and other scenarios (e.g. TSSearch results) usually end up confusing the whole thing, so nipper's approach of handling these cases in workflow will save you headaches in the long run.
