Deployment Failure

TS 7.2.1

I have 3 farms and 2 farms have same final targetserver path

say

farm1_dev =/data/../../x

farm2_int=/data/../../x

this is causing deployment failure.

When i change path of ony1 deployment is successfull

farm1_dev =/data/../../x

farm2_int=/data/../../y

Also farm1 just deploys to a sprayer OD server(no targets)

farm2 -deploys to a sprayer server and then to a target server.

Can someone please state why is it like that?

From your rather terse description, it appears you are deploying to the same location when it fails. Is that correct ? Is that truly the same server/same destination?

Also what type of deployments are you using ? There are restrictions of having two transactional deployments going to the same location at the same time. That basically is not allowed.

hmm..Yes ..its transactional multi tier deployments..multiple farms..same servers(app)...deploying to same target.

If that isnt allowed, then how do we deploy files through multiple farms to same target location sprayed from same OD server(following multi tier deployment)?

The reason i am follwoing diffrent route via farms is i have some logic doing stuff in each farm..

Have you looked at "Routed Deployments" rather than "Multi-Tiered"? There's the concept of "hubs" and "end-targets" - and the former can also be the latter...

I suspect if you diagram out some use cases you will see that deployments can happen to the same location and things can get unstable.

I guess when we use the combination of svrtrycount and svrtryinterval, we would be able to deployin this scenario.

OD would wait / attempt to deploy the files, in case of any other deployments are in prior, and this works in windows.

I tried,

svrTryCount="20" svrTryInterval="1" svrTryDisableOverwrite="no" and depoyment is stuck..for more than an hour for just 1 file..

Have you looked at Routed Deployments? Or are you continuing to try to get this to work with Multi-Tiered deployments?

I am still working with Multi tier deployment. Honestly,I have minimal knowledge on routed deployments..If we want to use routed,what changes we need to make in our deployment config file.?
