Import asset - appends --(Get Original)

Virage MB 8.0.3.

Image / asset retreival task seems to be append XYZ(--GetOrinigal).jpg. By using the default retreival task.

Can someone share idea on how to customize the retreival task to prevent this asset renaming from being happening. Or Do we really need to engage prof. services?

The task name will be appended to the MediaBin asset filename when importing to TeamSite workarea when using TeamSite-MediaBin integration. This is the default behaviour.

You may need to look at the TeamSite Java files if the customization can be done. And needed ProServices if a TeamSite .jar file is involved in this behaviour.

This should not happen if you use your own TeamSite workflow.

Thanks for your response. We were thinking before even getting pro. services engaged, if could get any direction on where the customization would need to be in. We have bunch of expertise that we want to see if could utilize.

Can you provide any directions? If the change is actually part of jar or simple java or config? mediabin toolkit?

If this is only occuring for files imported from MB to TS, this would be more appropriate for the TeamSite DevNet forum.

TS 7.4.1 Update 1 has fixes which hp quietly fixed , though they would stil claim it as default behaviour, its a known defect.

I explored the code and theres seems to be a fix in teamsite.jar.

Are you using None or Get Original task to import? Is the task name not appending when imported with None? or even with any other task?

We had the same issue. Raise a case with support and they will send you a corrected teamsite.jar and browser.jsp file which will fix the issue for you.

Hi Ravi,

We are using None task. We used it when we installed 7.4.1 and with Update1 as well. After update1 install this specific task retreival had the code fix in teamsite.jar.

I have another post in the forum related to same issue, where the asset height, widht and other metadata not getting populated. Can you take a look and help?

Can you try with a custom task or Get Original task and see if the task name is appending?

There was a change in the code with file naming with None task and other tasks. The imported file name will be same as original file name if it is imported with None task; and appends the task name if the file is imported with any other task.
