LSCS vs Teamsite Search - Are they same ?

Hi Team,

I am looking for a solution to search the Extented Attribute(expiry date)MetaData tagged in all my DCR.

Based on the results, I would need to send an email to the respective content authors.

I am just wondering whether LSCS and Teamsite Search are the same.

Please someone clarify

-For this I would recommend using LSCS authoring to query the project with the metadata key.

TeamSite search as well as LSCSauthoring too uses the the same OEM IDOL model, But Search uses TeamSite connector, and the indexing method for both of them are different.

For LSCS , you have to use PLC -> development deployment, only then you might get the result.

For Search, you have submit the content to staging for the results (Custom metadata has to be configured using filedmapping.xml)

minor correction - Search can be configured to index the workareas as well as staging - but in this case, if you're looking for expiration information - you probably don't care about searching the workareas. I also think that the querying of LSCS is probably cleaner than that of search - but I cannot say I've tried to do either for this type of scenario (back in the "old" days we traversed the filesystem and checked each file individually - ugh :-)

Yes I got clarity now. I am trying out with the teamsite search option.
