Will Teamsite MediaBin 4.6.2 web service integration will work after MB upgrade to 8.1

Hi,

our current MB 4.6.2 version is integrating with Teamsite via web service.

Since we are upgrading MB, i would like to check if there are any code changes required in stand alone java classs which call MB legacy API.

i compared the old webserivce methods with new and observed method name changes.

If TeamSite version is 7.3.2 and higher and RichMedia package is installed on TeamSite, viragemediabinserver.asmx web service will be used for the integration.

If RichMedia is not installed and would like to have old web service with TeamSite, ecmconnector.jar and few other files needs to be replaced.

Contact support to get files and instructions.

Your custom Java class utilizing old web service should work with new MB version.

Note, if you want to use the TeamSite MediaBin UI with MediaBin 8.1 it will not work; there is currently no version of TeamSite MediaBin UI which works with MediaBin 8.1 or above.

HP has said there will be a future release of TeamSite MB UI which will work with MB 8.1, however I beleive that is not until somewhere around Aug 2014.

Because of the critical requirement to import the assets from MediaBin, Old ECMConnector jar and few files needs to be replaced if MB 8.1 integration is needed for DCR imports and Workarea imports. These files can be obtained from Support.

RichMedia UI within TeamSite is the one Not supported with MB 8.1.

The legacy API should work for you, however I want to remind everyone that the Legacy API will EOL in February.

Thanks for reply. since we are not using ECM connector. i don't this ecmconnector.java needs to be replaced.

It a standalone java class. for example, i 've legacy web service api java code which is successfully retrieving the files from 4x server.

i've modifed hostname and mentioned proper wsdl of 8x version. I am getting the below error.

Do i need to replace MediaBinServer.jar or any other jars in client server?
