unable to register a event using iwat

Hi all

I am trying to call a script whenever a iwsubmit cmd is being issued.

i used iwat for this here is the iwlsat output

]# ./iwlsat

ID: 1178 "Submit" /local/iw-home/local/bin/atsubDeployNewAt

looks like its registred but when i issue iwsubmit..nothing happens..

Am i missing something to register an event ?

Yea I was wondering that, is the script a valid Perl script ? Are the permissions and shebang line correct to execute lke that?

Just run it form the command line, sometime the shebang line is hosed (esp if you edited with a DOS editor).

BTW, what is the deal with all the warnings ? Having all of those variables "only used once" is a red flag. Is it possible it ran but did not complete the way you expects.

i think this is the issue

# ./atsubDeployNewAt
-bash: ./atsubDeployNewAt: /opt/local/bin/perl: bad interpreter: No such file or directory

this perl path is not there in the machine thats why its not able to run the script. looks lke i need to set the perl path first to make it work

# which perl
/usr/local/bin/perl

Yeah - that would be an issue.

The first line of the script should be, litterally:

#!/usr/local/bin/perl

Or, if you are using any of the TeamSite modules:

#!/local/iw-home/iw-perl/bin/iwperl

(based on information you previously provided)

Try fixing that and then do another submit operation.

You do not need to unregister / re-register the command with iwrmat / iwat -- that part is fine, it's just the script that was attempting to be executed that was problematic.

#!/local/iw-home/iw-perl/bin/iwperl
