TS 672 uninstall :iw.server files not getting removed

I just uninstalled TS672 and cleaned up all the *iw* files from etc/rc.d/init.d area.rebooted the server twice

but still when i locate iw.server .system shows following

]# locate iw.server
/etc/rc.d/init.d/iw.server
/etc/rc.d/rc0.d/K30iw.server
/etc/rc.d/rc2.d/K30iw.server
/etc/rc.d/rc3.d/S30iw.server
/etc/rc.d/rc5.d/S30iw.server
/etc/rc.d/rc6.d/K30iw.server
[root@mtv-ca-teamsite /]# /etc/rc.d/init.d/iw.server
-bash: /etc/rc.d/init.d/iw.server: No such file or directory

from above ..when i am trying to access teh file ..file not present.

then why is it coming in locate cmd.

anybody know..what is the issue??

is it safe to do a fresh TS install now?

Are they really there or is locate just reporting it ?

If you have not done an updatedb lately, then locate is reporting old data.

try this

ls -l `locate iw.server`

Now that I read your question in detail, you do not understand how locate works.

A process called updatedb runs, gets every path to every file and builds up a hash/DB. Locate queries that hash and returns the complete list.

run

sudo updatedb

(or updatedb as root)

tsadminuser

oh I am sorry..i used to think ..it works same as find cmd

i just issued updatedb ..and now its not showing those old entries..
