App generation in 7.5

Why would somebody generate App through Teamsite 7.5? What advantage it is giving to the customers with this feature?

 

Does the App somehow integrate with the content generated from the CMS and use that content in Web toolkit. Does it only work through the Web kit or can it even with Native App View .

 

I am struggling to figure out the corelation between the two (CMS and App), documentation is taking me nowhere. 

 

Any thoughts?

I work where I have only TeamSite and not SitePublisher or LiveSite or any other mobile features.

So all I am saying here is mostly based on assumption.

However, based on high level documentation, to provide a feature to generate the app from TeamSite could mean that you want to provide mobile app for the features you would build for mobile based on mobile pages you would create within TeamSite.

 

May be try to generate the app and test it see how it is working.

 

This seems to be a hybrid app, calling all your mobile pages within webview from the native mobile app wrapper.

As per documentation, you can download an eclipse/xcode project generated by TeamSite. Import it in your eclipse/xcode and generate the APK/IPA for testing on emulator or device.

To publish the app, obviously you would need to sign the apk/ipa and then publish it to respective stores.

 

If you try this, please post what have you find.
