Setting up the different permissions on files and folders

I have two groups working on a single workarea (one website).

 

App Group

Web Group

 

I have two types of assets 1. Web and 2. App maintained as follows in folders

 

WA/App-assets  (app related)

WA/App-assets/was8/app1 (app related)

WA/images (web related)

WA/index.html (web related)

 

Now the requirements is to make App-assets and App-assets/was8 folder Non deletable. But App-assets/was8/app1 folder can be deleted/updated.

 

 

Being App Group and Web Group Editors on the branch and workarea, is it possible to make App-assets and app-assets/was8 folders NON-Deletable.

 

Is it possible to make the App group readonly for Web related files.

 

Any suggestions please. Appreciate.

Not really. You can override the 'delete' handler in various places to prevent the deletion of certain paths, but that won't account for a bunch of other use cases. In reality, I think user training is the better solution here. You can always rollback if someone screws it up.

 

Is it possible to make the App group readonly for Web related files.

Yup. Windows ACLs. Remove inheritance from parent folders and tweak as needed.
