MediaBin / SharePoint web part not working

I have successfully installed the web part and enabled it in my SharePoint site.. but the web part is unable to connect to MediaBin. Is anyone using this web part successfully and would you be willing to share your web.config entries so I can validate mine?

Can you share any more details about what you have done and any relevant log information?

I installed the web part following the instructions in the documentation for v2.5 of the web part. The install portion completes with no error. I am able to add the web part to the page in SharePoint but get the following message when the web part attempts to load:

An error occurred when loading the Autonomy Virage MediaBin Search Web Part.

Failed to connect to the MediaBin webservices. Returned Status Smiley Tongue

I am able to get to bring up the web part page from the SharePoint server.

Was there any other message after "ProtocolError"? Typically I would expect more detail. Can you check the SharePoint logs for more information?

Is the connection from SP going to the MB web services going through any kind of proxy (hardware or software based)?

The MediaBin_WebService key value (in SharePoint site's web.config file) should be pointed to the complete end-point name. For Ex: http://MBWebServer/mbws/MediaBinWebService/VirageMediaBinServer.asmx

MediaBin_UserName and MediaBin_Password are needed if you would like to configure a dedicated MediaBin administrative account for SharePoint users.

If MediaBin_UserName and MediaBin_Password are not set in SharePoint site's web.config file, unified (network) login. However, to use this network login, MediaBin WebService end-point (http://MBWebServer/mbws/MediaBinWebService/VirageMediaBinServer.asmx) should be configured with Windows Integrated Authentication (WIA) on MediaBin WebServer.

RMM Client does not work if Windows Integrated Authentication is enabled as it requires Anonymous authentication on VirageMediaBinServer.asmx.

So, a separate MBWebService needs to be configured for SharePoint and enable Windows Integrated Authentication on VirageMediaBinServer.asmx.
