MediaBin -Metatagger TO IDOL Migration

Hi,

Our existing MB V4.6.2 is integrated with Metatagger.

Keywords/MetataggerSummary/Metatagger Classification are three MetaData fields populated by Metagtagger.

I.ve created a new taxonmy in MT Studio and assigned to Metatagger Classification field.

We are moving to MB 8.1 now. I came to know that MetaTagger is not compatible with 8.1 and support for MT is no more.

And also told by support is that MT is replaced with IDOL. So, we would to populate metadata of these 3 fields with IDOL.

Metatagger Summary field can be replaced with IDOL Summary.

We have now working on populating Keywords and MT Classification fields.

Keywords metadata field is critical to our website functionality. Users will search the documents on our Global website and this is based on Keywords.(we have integration between MB and Teamsite and Teamsite pulls docs from MB supplies to website with keywords).

Keywords are limited to 10 words and its comma seperated. ex. Keyword1 Keyword2, keyword3.

I am thinking that by modifying IDOL config fie we can pull keywords from document and populate in Keywords metadata field. Please suggest.

Can IDOL extract key/best terms from document and poulates that value in Keywords fields in MediaBin?Similar to IDOL Summary

Please note that we do not have APA/Liquid Office license.

MediaBin will index asset metadata into IDOL for the purposes of search. It does not extract details from assets and then apply them to the asset in MediaBin. If you populate the keywords in MediaBin, they can be configured to be indexed into IDOL and be searchable.

However, the functionality you want does sound like a good use case for APA. It will give you all kinds of options for handling these types of workflows.

Is IDOL Summary field metadata is not populated by IDOL?

i mean IDOL doesn't extracts that data ? why i am again asking is, when we migrate old MB data to 8.1, there was no data in IDOL summary field, and after running the MarkAllIndex and IDOL scheduler taks, this field is populated.

also, if the IDOL Summary details not extraced by IDOL why the name is specifically mentioned as IDOL Summary?

The IDOL Summary field is specifically derived by IDOL, all other metadata that is returned from IDOL queries is only there as a result of them being added by MediaBin.

The IDOL Summary metadata applies to document assets and derived by default by DREContent. If you wish to have the IDOL Summary populated by the Keywords metadata field, you will have to configure IDOL to do that as it is not the defaul behavior.

Why do you require that Keyword data show up in the IDOL Summary? Keywords are already part of the default fields that are indexed and therefore should be returned in a search result when searching for a given keyword. They may also result in being included in the IDOL Summary if IDOL makes the determination they are relevant.

To modify the fields used to generate a summary for a document, you have to edit the SourceFields property in the AutonomyIDOLServer.cfg. The problem will be if you remove all of the other fields only leave the Keywords identifier to force IDOL Summary to include only Keywords, you will severely limit the searchability of the repository.
