JDK 1.4 Support ?

We are planning a JDK upgrade from 1.3 to 1.4 on our production environment. In this context can anyone tell me whether the following IWOV products support JDK 1.4 on Sol 8:

TS 5.5.2
Templating 5.5.2
OpenDeploy 5.5.1

I have used TeamSite/Templating 5.5.2.whatever on Windows with JDK 1.4.1 and there did not seem to be any issues (other than Tomcat JVM memory sizing but I think that is an issue for any JVM version). It is a pain to configure and maintain the customization to use an alternate JVM and it is not supported. It seemed to work with the 1.4.1 JDK but not just the JRE, I didn't spend enough time to figure out why. No idea about OpenDeploy.

interwoven products ship with their own JVM. changing the JVM is not supported, and will most likely cause problems. currently interwoven ships version 1.3.1_07. as of this moment, we do not plan on moving to 1.4, (we are planning on skipping to 1.5 instead), though if 1.5 doesn't come out soon we may have to reconsider.

so to answer your question, upgrading to 1.4 is neither supported nor recommended, and you will most likely run into problems.

out of curiosity, what is the reason for this upgrade?
