Invoking Opendeploy using CSSDK

Can somebody help in pointing to the class whcih is used to invoke Opendeploy using CSSDK.

I have gone through many threads related but with no right answer. I have see Ghoti's 3yr back note saying a separate thread started for this but leading to home page.

Any help please.

If you're talking about initiating a deployment from a workflow (generally WFM, but it should work from WFT too) task I believe the class you are looking to extend is DeployURLExternalTask, which is not documented because it's not, officially, supposed to be "used" by customers - but extending it is a reasonable way to utilize it.

Like the URL External Task class it expects you to define an execute method, and from there you can do most of the manipulation you need before calling the super-class's methods to do the actual work.

If I recall correctly, ultimately the class will invoke OpenDeploy through a web services interface (so, not strictly being invoked via CSSDK, rather CSSDK is providing a framework you can use to invoke it through web services).

Unfortunately, the cross-post references on the old DevNet do not work on the new "HP Developer Community", but fortunately, I believe the new forums' search capability is better than the old forum's - so now that you know the correct name of the class to extend - you should be able to search the forums and find most of the detailed information.

Extending that class for the majority of cases is definitely the way to go.

For more complex cases, you could dig into how the underlying code actually invokes the web services, and then replicate the part of that functionality that you need. IMO the TeamSite side of that code is a lot of somewhat unnecessary wrapping, which would not really be 'safe' to use directly. But the OD web service itself is a supported API so you can use that example to learn how to use it. Obviously the effort here is much higher, so again attempt this only if ghoti's suggestion doesn't suit your needs.

I am actually trying to invoke opendeploy from external java program using CSSDK but not through workflow. Not sure if there is any api available for doing so.

I see 2 choices, kick off the iwod CLT from within your code, or follow RIck's advice and start to figure out how the web services work for OD and write code to do that.

This is not documented, the current interfaces with OD are from the commandline or using WF URL tasks.
