formating checkbox in 2 rowsin DCT

Hi techies,

I am bit stuck in getting the item of checkbox type with 30 options distributed in 2 columns within data capture template DCT. Right now options are continuing in 1 row and getting wrapped after container space is finsihed.

 

Please help as I didnt find anything on formAPI or form publisher guide

FormsPublisher does not provide for [easy] custom formatting of checkbox items.

The only way that I've been able to do something like this in the past (haven't tried recently) was by embedding HTML line breaks into the labels of the checkbox options.

 

If you want something significantly cleaner - you'll have to use a [cgi] callout to present the options the way you want and then capture the information in [probably] a hidden field in the DCT/DCR.  If you go this route, just remember to ensure that you have a reasonable way to parse the information so that when the callout is initiated it shows the already selected values.
