Need to register new ea for lscs query ?

I have register new ea for lscs query .I have followed given steps :

-added ea in lscs-authoring.xml

-restarted lscs by ./start.sh and ./catlina.sh start

But still I am unable get document by querying based on registered metadata ,although document is successfully deployed using plc to lscs.Please sugest I am missing something.

Under normal circumstances (default install), you don't need to do anything for new EAs. Deploying it through the PLC is sufficient to make it available for querying. So either you've got some unusual configuration that you failed to mention in your post, or the file wasn't deployed as successfully as you thought.

I suggest creating a file that didn't exist before, assign the EA to it, then deploy and find it in LSCS. Use the $* query to ask for "all metadata" and confirm that the new EA is present. That should tell you where to look next.

Thanks for update.I am getting deployed data with new ea when I query using * ,it returns all content.But

When I query metadata specific it returns blank xml document ,as per my understanding technical reference guide tells we need to register custom ea to lscs-authoring.xml for querying .Please see the screenshot attached ,if I am doing something wrong .

just remove parenthesis around the query, it will solve your issue.

trigger the below query and see the results.

Hi Gaurav,

Basically the old data which you deployed before adding the EA will not be returned. Only the files deployed after the EA is added will be returned. As Nageshwar suggested,remove the paranthesis and try, this will work.

Also don't forget to mark the nageshwar reply as solution as it will help others also.

there is separate services of indexing ,search , idol for runtime and authoring we need to restart them to make it work and no need to touch lscs-authoring.xml .Once content published query will work.
