Hello,

I had implemented a filelist deplyment through workflow modeler. The deployments were getting successful but the workflow was getting hang on at one instace(URL task). From the odbase log I see only the following error.

DBD: awaiting msg...
 DBD: Deployment Publisher thread running...
 DBD: DepUUID = e0bd2fa0-2c9d-11e4-95e6-d85dded50023 LegLabel= database
 DBD: OpenDeploy install location /app/interwoven/OpenDeployNG
 DBD: ERROR: PublishDDEvent - null
 DBD: DataDeploy output : [result=true]
 DBD: Receieved error code : 0

Can you please suggest me how to fix this issue?

No clue but I would start by narrowing the problem down.

Try running the deployent from teh command line and see if it works.

Using the workflow the deployment was working fine as expected and later it executes the email notification using the URI task and the job gets hold on tat task without ending.

OK so the problem is with the email task and not the DD right?

Does an email get sent? Find the server.log and see if anything is posted.

Yes.

Yes email gets sent successfully. I don't see any info posted in server.log

Its a custom workflow model with external task(executes ipl file) , and two URL tasks(for Success and Fialure email notifications)

So - the email notification is a URL External Task - running a Java program? Is it a cusom Java program or a vendor-supplied one? If the later - what is the Class Name associated with the URL External Task?

Yes, its calling a vendor supplied java program.

As we keep slowly going down this rabbit hole.....

What's the TaskBeanId on that task?

Does it map to a custom bean or one supplied by the vendor?

Jumping the gun and assuming you're using the PLC...

What BodyStylesheet is it using?

Does the owner of the task have read access to that stylesheet (which is located in /iwadmin/main/livesite/config)?

Have you double-checked the mailserver and maildomain configuration values in TeamSite/etc/iw.cfg?

Was this working before?

Are you sure your mail server isn't just discarding your SMTP request because the sending server and/or the configured maildomain are not recognized by the SMTP relay?

How many, of what type, links do you have coming out of this task?

What are the labels / descriptions of those links?

The email functionality was working fine as expected and I am receving the success deployment notifcation email.

Try changing the label of the default link from "Failure Notification Job End" to "Job Failure Notification Success" - and you should also add a default link for "Job Failure Notification Failure"

The links from tasks using the OOTB Java mailers, by default, need to use the exact same name as the task from which they are coming followed by the word "Success" or "Failure" - unless you explicitly define the transition names, for both states, as Task Variables - which you didn't. I don't recall off-hand the names of the variables, but I think it's something like "Success Transition" and "Failure Transition" - so your other option might be to define a "Success Transition" task variable with the value of "Failure Notification Job End" - but I think changing the label of the transition to "Job Failure Notification Success" is cleaner / easier.

Try it and let us know.

This has resolved my deployment Job completition and nothing was getting holdlike earlier. But still the error appers in the odbase log.
