ERROR: License key invalid.

We have freshly installed TeamSite 7.5 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.7 (Santiago), generated and added licence file, still we are getting below error in iwtrace.log:

ERROR: License key invalid. Contact Interwoven for a new license key.

Earlier, we tried installing TeamSite 7.3 on the same RedHat server but same error. We are able to access TS through UI but not able to edit the page files, sitepublisher menu is missing. Also when we try edit the .page files, they are getting downloaded to local instead of opening in the new browser with all the components and template associated to the page.

Appreciate if any one could help us with this. Thanks much.

I guess your current issue is with TS 7.5 , licensing. Check the same log for either bad hostname , or bad domainname, that should show us the issue.

If you are getting an error about your license key being invalid, it indicates that you used incorrect information when generating the license, the license file was generated incorrectly (with the correct information), or that the license file somehoe got corrupted before, during, or after the delivery of it to you as an email attachment.

In pretty much all of the above scenarios, the only way to really get help, is to contact HP Support.

The only things I would suggest doing before-hand are:

Running IWHOME/bin/tslicinfo
Running IWHOME/bin/tsisvalid IWHOME/etc/TS.lic

Compare and contrast the output from both commands. E.g.: for me (running 8.0 on Windows)

C:\>tslicinfo

DOMAIN=localdomain

HOSTNAME=FISHBOWL

PRODUCT=TS

CPUS=2

C:\>tsisvalid c:\Interwoven\TeamSite\etc\TS.lic

License in etc\TS.lic is valid

License is permanent
