Email task &lt;no user&gt; in WFM

Hi,

I have added an email task for which next task is a review task.

I have used default Classname com.interwoven.ui.teamsite.workflow.task.urltask.ReviewerMailNotificationTask

mail_template com.interwoven.ui.teamsite.workflow.task.urltask.ReviewerMailNotificationTask

and given the review task name in target_task_name.

While executing in content_center.log i see the below message

This is the first time i am using WFM, hence lost. Any pointers would be great. Is there any other log file i should be seeing as well ???

I hope you are achieving to send email's to the reviewers. But I guess the in the email task, it is looking for the owner of the reviewer task and which is empty , the reviewer task will have an owner only when some one picks the task and not before it.

Try to use the same classname, in the reviewer task itself.

So, for the time being i added a user task. Now, i am getting error "Sender address rejected not logged in" i have given sender as noreply@myclient.com and the recipient is the same domain as specified in iw.cfg.

How did you give the sender's address ? as noreply@myclient.com , Are you using the OOTB email_mapping.cfg ?

I have mentioned it in the task variables of Email task. Should i configure it in email_map.cfg as well ? I was under the impression the java class doesn't refer it.

1. Ignore the error message about not being able to read datacapture6.0.dtd - this annoying message has no effect on functionality, but can be resolved by placing a copy of the IWHOME/local/config/datacapture6.0.dtd somewhere within the ApplicationContainer/server/default/deploy/... directories (preferably by being "built" from within IWHOME/local/config/lib/content_center/...)

2. As has been noted, the code you are using is inteded for use when referencing a UserTask as the target_task, and does not know how to properly deal with not-yet-owned GroupTasks (most likely) - or it does know, but the diagnostics get printed out as it figures out what it needs to do (less likely). Basically the code you are using was (IMO) hastily developed when they initially released WFM and was a relatively poor (again, IMO) implemenation of an email notification process.

3. If you look in the PLC WFM, you should see references to a LiveSite class for sending email (I'm not looking at it right now, so I don't remember the details) - this class, which uses XSLT PTs that are located within the /iwadmin/main/ branche, is a far better implementation of email notification code (IMO), but may require you to do some XSLT development to create and/or customize the emails the way you want. I believe this class also does the proper handling of GroupTasks.

4. Failing that, you end up writing your own email notification class - usually be starting with an existing class and modifying it to meet your needs; but this should be considered as second, if not last, resort.
